Cabinet Reface in a Different Place
Typically, when homeowners think reface, they mainly think of the kitchen. It’s true the kitchen may be the most obvious place for new cabinet doors and hardware, but there are other rooms in your house which deserve a face lift as well. If you’ve ever finished a kitchen refacing project you are already aware of how refaced cabinets bring the whole room to life. Sparkling new handles and fresh cabinet doors change the entire look of your kitchen. But you needn’t stop with the kitchen! Other rooms undoubtedly could use the same revitalization.
Reface the Whole Place!
Virtually any room in your home can benefit from reface work. If the room has cabinets it’s a candidate for renewal. The best part is rooms which are smaller will be less expensive to reface than a full kitchen.
- Laundry Rooms – Washing and folding may seem like less of a chore by livening up the room with refaced drawers, cabinets, and cubbies.
- Utility Rooms – Make your drab utility room more welcoming with refaced cabinets.
- Bathrooms – So much of your time is spent in the bathroom; new vanity doors or a new wall cabinet would make it more inviting.
When selecting refacing materials for these additional rooms, remember you don’t always need the most expensive hardware or laminates. Synthetic wood will be more than adequate in rooms which don’t get as much wear and tear as the kitchen. And if you are remodeling an area that is prone to messes, choose an RTF material or thermofoil that will repel stains.
What’s the moral of the story? Reface every room in your home! It’s an inexpensive alternative to brand new cabinets and much quicker to finish. Nothing can transform the look of a room or your entire home quicker than cabinet refacing.
